Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use doobiedistrict.com and to shop with us. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work.

What we've done on the website

• Each page has one main heading and a logical heading order, so screen reader users can move through sections.
• Images carry text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Text is set in high-contrast colors on a dark background, and the layout adapts to phones, tablets and zoomed-in browsers without sideways scrolling.
• Links and buttons have descriptive labels, and phone numbers and directions are plain links that work with assistive technology.
• Store hours, address and phone number appear as text on every page, not only inside images or maps.

Known limitations

The live menu and ordering screens are provided by Dutchie, a third-party platform, so we can't change all of their code. If any part of the menu doesn't work for you, call us and we'll help with your order by phone.

Some older blog images may have shorter descriptions than we'd like. We're reviewing them as we update each article.

Visiting the store

Our store is on the lower level of 1526 U Street NW, Basement, Washington, DC 20009, and the entrance is a short flight of steps down from the sidewalk. If steps are a barrier for you, please call (202) 627-2280 before your visit so we can talk through how we can help.
